Happy Thanksgiving !!!(late)

This years Thanksgiving is very special as you might imagine. I think of the gospel song Showers of Blessings and i want to tell God i ain't Noah and i don't have an ark. We have really been overwhelmed with Love from God and will forever be thankful for everything he has granted us. The love that His Church has shown us and friends and family have reached out to us in love is incredible. He is an Awesome God and thankful that He sent His Son to die for me and you!! I will pray daily that Sophie will come to that understanding when she gets older and accept Him as her Lord and Savior, that she not only realizes how much of a blessing she is to us, but how much He has blessed her also.
I wanted to post some pics we made back in Sept. with Ambers Photography. We had a tough time deciding which ones we wanted and ended up buying a 16x20, and just a few 8x10s and buying the copywrites of all of them on a cd. She done a wonderful job and we appreciate her accomadating us.
Also wanted to give an update on Tammy's elbow surgery she had on the 16th. She has had a tough time, not able to use her right arm at all and she is right handed. Sophie has not understood why mom can't hold her like she use to, or change her diaper like she use to, or bathe her like she use to, you get the point. She has pretty much stayed away from the Loratabs as they basically knock her out.
Yet again, our church family and friends have come to aid with providing meals for us while Tammy has been sick. We absolutely have the best church family and friends anyone could ask for, they have been such a blessing to us!!! We really have felt so undeserving of all the blessings and acts of kindness God's people has showered us with, but we will forever be thankful for God's grace on our family.
Sophie is still getting better each and everyday, she is a joy to see running things around here. She is still doing good with my parents, i pray everyday they don't get tired of coming down to sit with her! My mom has done way more than babysit tho she has been working nonstop helping me around here since Tammy has been down. She is cutting teeth one right after another, and this latest round has given her a touch of an upset stomach, but hopefully we will be thru this shortly. She is talking basically nonstop alot we don't understand and some we do understand. She is doing so good (i think)in church, although the preacher may disagree as she has gotten into raising her voice at him when he is preaching The Word. Lastly if anyone still following is on facebook friend request me Rodney Aldridge, as i do post more on there.

Chaotic Friday 12 Nov.

On Friday Nov. 12th my vacation ended with a blooper!! Follow along as i explain.
First Bailee was out of school, so the 3 of us go to Macdonalds for breakfast, then we take a trip to Lee Park to let them play. Pictures above show they had a good time, i only had my point & shoot camera. On our way home around lunch she falls asleep so i let her get her nap in till about 2:00. I didn't change her peepee diaper i took her straight to the high chair to eat. Afterwards she wanted to do some #2 business so waited for her to get thru. About 15 min. pass & Bailee says "Dad i think she is ready she is getting the wipes out." I get down to change her and put my hand on her bottom, "we have a blowout and need your help" i told Bailee. I go get a towel, take her shoes off, slowly take her pants off,and lay her on towel. I didn't know at the time the laying down action squeezed it up her back into her shirt. I proceed to take diaper off & clean her up(half a box of wipes later). I finish and stand her up Bailee said "ooh daddy it is on her clean diaper", i look and sure nuff there it is, on the back of her shirt, look down at the rug and there it is too. At this point i say o.k i take her shirt off, i take her diaper off and run to her bathroom, i grap a washcloth going to clean her back( Bailee looks in and suggest putting her in tub incase she pees), he nomore gets it out his mouth and turn and look at her she has pee going everywhere. So when Tammy got home Sophie was in tub, Bailee cleaning the rug in living room, and i am washing Sophie's top and pants out in the sink. What a way to end an otherwise great vacation!!

OOPS!!

While writing the last post i left some important details out that i thought about later.
For beginners on Friday the 5th our Sophie turned 21 months. Where has time gone, it seems as if we were just in China and few days ago. She has been teething pretty bad but has finally cut the 5, yep 5 teeth. She is really doing good. When we went to the Cleft Clinic in B'ham, the Dr. said that her palet is in good shape, no surgery needed. The hole she has is between the lip and gum and may need some work 4 or 5 years from now but let her be a toddler and be happy.
During our trip to China i took FMLA, which is suppose to use your vacation and personal days before unpaid starts. They messed up and had me on unpaid leave the entire trip. So i have 2 weeks of vacation to use up, and i started 1 on Friday. So its Sophie and BaBa this week, if you would have told me a month ago that she would be happy staying with me all day much less a week i would have told you that you were crazy. She woke up this morning and was as happy as ever !! God has moved mightly in her life and i beleive He has provided peace within her with her Forever Family!!
We are not fools and think we are over all the hurdles by any stretch, but we are thankful that God has provided joy, love, and peace for Sophie with us.Keep us in your prayers!!

Some Fall Pictures and Church Dedication

WOW!!!!! A month has passed

Time has passed so fast and so much has took place i will try to update to today. First, on Oct. 7th Sophie had tubes put in both ears and is doing good. Her pediatrician appointment went good, although she got 5 shots, 3 more in Dec. and she will be good till 5yrs old. Rodney's parents started coming to sit with Sophie on the 11th of October, in hopes of making Tammy's transition back to work smooth for them both. She has done great allowing Tammy to go back to work a couple of weeks early, she went back on the 25th. She went back early because she has surgery on her arm the 16th on Nov. to get alittle more time to heal before she goes back to work again. We all passed a head cold around for a week or so, but presently we are well. Sophie is really settling in to her surroundings good. She is watching alot of Barney, the only thing she will watch. She has bonded with me alot over the past few weeks, we have went to town alone a time or two and she done great. I get to come home earlier than Tammy allowing my parents to leave and have a couple of hours or so of time alone with her.
We had her Baby Dedication at our church on the 10th of Oct., and they had a church wide lunch and shower in honor of Sophie. She got sooo many clothes, and bows, shoes and boots, toys and alot of money on that day, plus so many had already given her clothes and toys and supported us financially. Our church family has really showed our family the Love of God. They are so supported of us and has been willing to help in every way imaginable. I just hope and pray that we can be a blessing to them sometime the way they have blessed us. God has been so good, we set back and think what have we done to receive so many blessings from Him!!
