To say I had a great shower is an understatement! Sophie got sooooooo many cute things. She is going to be a fashion diva :-)
I am so thankful to have such great friends who love my baby girl. You all have blown me away with your generosity. Thank you again!

First Sophie Shower Today ! ! !

Well, today is a day I have so looked forward to for a while now! My very first shower for Miss Sophie and my very first "girly-girl" shower EVER!!! As much as I have looked forward to having a daughter, this shower helps bring the reality home! I am giddy with excitement and anticipation as I imagine all the PINK and cute girl stuff that will be before me today.

I can never thank you enough for all you have done to get this together and to help prepare the way for our precious Sophie! BUT, more than the shower thank you for holding my hand through the past four years of waiting, for lifting me up when I have been down and for crying with me when I just needed to cry! I cannot put into words how much each of you mean to me or how very much I love you! I am just so thankful to God for loving me enough to surround me with warriors for BFFs and sisters! I love you girls!

To my sweet Sophie...

Baby girl this shower today is an example of how good our God is! He knows that in our lives as women and girls that we will need the friendship, companionship, and connections that can only come from other women and He blesses us with just the right ones that He has specially chosen to be a part of our lives! Embrace them, share with them, and give back to them as they have given to you so that your life will always be full even when your heart doesn't think it can take one more thing. We are blessed that mommy has so many people to love her and that love you so much already. You don't know how much fun we are going to have with these chics! They ROCK!

Surprise Update!!!

Look what was emailed to us today!!! An updated picture of our girl. She is growing like crazy and seems so happy! Thank you Jesus!!! I pray for her happiness, health, and care everyday and am so thrilled that God loves me so much that He confirms my prayers with beautiful answers such as this!
The update says that Sophie is walking and running around all over the place, that she is babbling, that she loves to dance, and that she likes to wave and clap. As of last week she weighs 20 lbs, is 29 1/2 inches tall, and has 5 teeth. She has 3.9 inch feet (just like her mommy- big feet). Her health status says "HEALTHY"! Praise God! Isn't this awesome.
SOOOOO, we are only waiting on Travel Approval from China and then we can get our tickets and go get her. Please pray for a quick travel approval and that we get to leave for China very soon. I am ready to get my girl and hold her in my arms!!! She may forget how to walk because I will not want to put her down :-)

P.S.S. Can you believe the beautiful hair she has... God knows about the zillions of hairbows we have to go on that precious little head! Look out Sophie mommy is coming with lots of bows!!!! :-)

Sophie's First Connection from the USA . . .

These are the pics of the items we packed up for Sophie girl and the orphanage nannies and director. This is the first package she will receive from her new family. We sent her animal crackers, a pink outfit, a blankie that I washed at home to get her used to our smells, socks, toy books, and best of all a photo book with our pictures and the chinese symbols for moma, daddy, big brother, paps, nana, and pawpaw. It also has pics of her room, the house, and the pool. The orphanage box has a disposable camera for them to take pics of Sophie, candies, notepads with pen, snack cups, baby spoons, and scented lotions. We hope she gets it and that they share it with our girl. There are no guarantees but who couldn't send their baby a gift if given the chance. We will just pray that she gets it and enjoys it all. So all my prayer warriors pray for that and for us to get our TA (Travel Approval) speedy quick. It can happen if God wants it to... others in our group have gotten TA in about a week while yet others have waited a month. Therefore, if we all band our prayers together and have faith God just might move it along!

Now for my sweet baby girl....

Sophie, moma hopes that this package gets to you and that it is the last one you ever have to receive while being seperated from us. I can't wait to see you play and enjoy all your things at home with us. I love you baby girl!

Signing the Best Papers in the World!!!

The Fed_Ex guy dropped off some very important papers for us to sign. We received the "Letter Seeking Confirmation of Adopter" from China that is basically our acceptance letter for Sophie!!!! We marked the box that said, "We accept the child mentioned above" and then had to sign our intent lettes that were written in English and in Chinese. That was a hoot! Anyway, now according to China when they receive these documents back, we are officially Sophie's parents! WOW! God is awesome. We are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl... and might I say she is the prettiest little one on the planet! Keep praying for us and for Miss Sophie. Her whole world is getting very close to changing. Yes, we all think it will be better and know she will be so loved but for her it will all be new, strange, and a little unsettling at first. Just pray God will comfort her and that she will accept and bond with us quickly and easily. We want her to love us as much as we already love her!

Pray for baby Ruthie, Eva, and Emma as each of them meet new families and settle into a new life. Pray their families stay well and have safety. They are the Wells, Berryhills, and Blairs.
