Friday's Happenings

Well to start off i should tell you that I (rodney) had kankaroo for supper
thursday night and it was good. Sophie and moma had a better night (only 2 night terrors) slept soundly otherwise. Friday was another free day so after a late breakfast we decided to try another milestone for Sophie, we all went swimming, and she loved it. in fact she pitched a Tammy fit when we left after a couple of hours. We came back to room for lunch and Butch, Bailee, and myself went out for Tammy to lay Soph down for nap. She did progress alot w/me today she gave me some kises and fed me cherrios and actually let moma out of her sight for a few minutes(seconds). We went to several shops and bought a few small things then ate supper went down for ice cream later and back to play room before she was exhausted. We really thought leaving the playroom each time we would have a meltdown but when she gets enough she gets Tammy's shoes and goes to door and is ready for something new. Sophie is controlling everything right now because she is so incredibly hard headed, well moma is hard headed to and she joked (might have been serious)w/Sophie today and said we would have a come to Jesus meeting when we get home ! There is a con artist outside our hotel that tries to sell Bailee a fake rolex and laser type deal everytime we step out and he and Bailee may have a come to Jesus meeting soon cause he is keeping up w/ how many times he ask him and he ain't liking it!!lol
All in all a good day please keep praying for progress in the bonding, and attachment situation. We are so thankful for all our friends, family and church family that are praying for us it is just no way we could say thank you enough !

Thursday Pics

This is one of the days we were looking forward prior to coming to China because this is the day set aside to visit True Childrens Home, but we had to make a hard decision that pained us not to be able to do because they provided our child with so much other orphans aren't afforded. But with much pray, and taking in consideration our attachments issues we felt it would take us backwards in our situation. Breakfast was great again, then we took her to the big play room in the hotel where we played for 2 hours, we then went to drop off laundry and back to room. Rained most of day here, but did manage to get a Subway sandwich in, bought Sophie a couple small things and went back to room. We think she made some more progress today so keep praying for her to have peace with us, she has about wore moma out.

A Post From Tammy. . .

I am going to try to get in a quick post. I have had to take a leave of absence from posting b/c a little Aldridge will not let me do anything except what she dictates. May I just say that all of your messages are what is getting me through these tough days. Yes, I know I look tired b/c I am!!! I only sleep in between Sophie fits, Sophie night terrors, and Sophie kicks to the head... This chic needs to seriously go out for the Feds soccer team when we get home b/c she has a strong kick! It is hard and I am tired and have cried enough to swim back to MS in my own ocean but it is so worth the hardships as I see my beautiful gift from an Awesome God reach out to me, throw her head back laughing at and with me, and getting that prissy little bossy finger out to point for what she is currently dictating, Thanks again and know I love you all and can't wait to be home and sharing our lives with all of you instead of the Chinamen. Please continue to pray that Sophie can get through these attachment issues and cling to us instead of any chinese person she sees! Her daddy is a strong man b/c her not coming to him is so hard to digest but he loves her through it anyway! Pray for them to mesh as well!

Wednesday Part #2

Well today was a bit of milestone day for Sophie. First tub bath, she did great! right after getting ready for breakfast she had her first poopy diaper, we were happy of this becaue it was also gonna be suppository day if she hadn't. Today was also the first real smile and laugh that we have seen. She is eating any and everything we put in front of her except the traditional chinese babyfood of congi, she will not eat it no matter how we fix it. Today we only had one appointment to apply for Sophie' visa, so we mostly stayed in room and let her play. She is still stuck on any Chinese woman we see she will reach for, so the only way to handle that is (1) is upset her when we don't let her or (2) stay in room a much as possible. About 5pm we went down to Lucy's and ate supper and got a few things for our room.She played and had what i thought was good time after that till mom gave her a bath, she was goo with that till she started to get out and then.....She Crapped in the tub and you guessed it the stopper was stuck,and then it was Mike Rowe to the rescue, or in this case daddy. Doing better but please keep the prayers going we can see God answer your prayers each day so please keep praying. It is one those situations in life that God puts you in to show us just how big,powerful, and wonderful He really is. Thats all for today

Wednesday Part #1

Late Tuesday afternoon Bailee got to eat at his favorite place, the first person to comment with the right answer of where we ate will get a prize from Guangzhou China when we get home. Guess away!!!
